On the 18th of November, as it was scheduled, the mooring trials of ice-breaker “Kapitan Belousov”, owned by the USPA (Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority) have been successfully completed and the crew made the transition from water area of “SRZ” Ltd to the hailing place in the Mariupol Commercial Sea Port.
“Annual campaign for preparation of the vessel for navigation period is completed”, - said Evgeniy Ageev, the lead engineer of Shiprepair department. – It had extended in stages about 90 days from the moment of vessel’s acceptance for repair. Considering that in 2018 the ice-breaker confirmed its class, this time the focus was put on the repair of navigation bridge and hull structures.  
As the reminder, the vessel was accepted for repair in September, 2019
The first stage was the docking with presentation of the main hull to the surveyors of classification society “The Shipping Registry of Ukraine”. The second and third stages – performance of nominated scope of repair works.
So, the following works have been executed: repair of sea valves, piping systems, thrust bearings of main electromotors in the motor room, cleaning / painting of the equipment.
Also there was performed the detection and repair of hull steel structures on port and starboard sides of the forecastle, where the entire pieces of deck under hawser and rollers foundation were renewed.
“As of today, the technical condition of the vessel is rated an A by the specialists, - summarizes Oleg Turskiy, the general director of “SRZ” Ltd, - and it is very pleasant, as the team of the yard in recent decades has been an integral to maintenance of not only the ice-breaker, but the other vessels of state port auxiliary service fleet. We are always ready to fulfill an order of any complexity and to assist the USPA with our resources, technologies and specialists. And, if necessary, to help with supply and manufacture of spare parts for trouble-free operation of ship’s systems”.
